Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is the exported WAV file larger than my original MP3?
A: MP3 uses lossy compression, while WAV stores raw 16-bit linear PCM uncompressed audio. Converting to WAV expands the compressed stream back into uncompressed PCM data, so an increased file size is expected.
Q: Will Stereo to Mono conversion lose audio details?
A: No. MoxiKit uses exact arithmetic average downmix ((L + R) / 2) to combine both channels evenly without dropping either channel.
